I did a search first but cannot find any info on adding a cigarette lighter to my sporty. I think I remember someone doing it on here. Anyways, I don't want it to power anything, so a weatherproof 12V is out. I simply want it to light cigarettes as intended. Has anyone done this, and if so, then where did you find a weatherproof cig lighter and where/how did you install it?
Is this what you're looking for? Still working fine after 2 years. Had to replace the removable lighter element after about 18 months, but the replacement is only about $5 at your local auto parts store.
What's wrong with a Bic? I have seen the 12V outlets the hook to your battery tendor plug for like $20.00 but don't know if a lighter element will work in it.

You must not be a smoker. Ever tired to light a Bic in a even 20 mph breeze, much less highway speeds?
The 12V outlets for the Battery Tender plugs are only designed as power outlets, not lighter plugs.

This is what I have from ebay was like 5 bucks. Put it is so I can plug in my iphone like in my car.
ok, let me understand this. You want a lighter so you can light your cigarette going down the road? Can't wait for a red light? I guess that wouldn't look as cool would it?
If you are going to light a cig going down the road, then you have no place to complain about cell phones or people texting while driving.

Obviously you're just a bar hopper and/or an anti-smoker.
Try running a 10 hour day on the interstate stopping only for fuel every 180 miles, then you'll learn the tricks of having an energy bar within reach, a water bottle on the handlebars, and yes the ability to light a smoke.
None of which distracts the mind like a cell conversation.
