how do you wrap pipes?

It helps to reduce the heat coming off the pipes.

gives you better performance and looks awesome, but i'm going for an old school look.

The question you did not ask is what is wrap?

It is fiberglass fabric 1" or 2" wide.
Due to being fiberglass it will make a bit of itchy dust if you wrap pipes with dry fabric.
This stuff is nothing compared to fiberglass house insulation. long gloves & a long sleeved shirt & you can wrap without itches.
The fiberglass is sealed by paint.
If you wrap it correctly heat will still escape but the metal underneath will not overheat.
