If you use black be sure to buy the special paint else rain will cause the black to leech out & turn white.

If you have a S curve headder pipe, like on the Thunderheadder, you will need to use more steel ties for when the overlap reverses.

I seem to recall the original post being about stock headders.

The following webpage shows hi-temp paints.

I used the DEI silicone spray for the wrap. Here is how to wrap. Soak the wrap for a few minutes. Use hose clamps or metal zip ties to secure the wrap on the back of the pipe first. Wrap the wet wrap around the pipes all the way to the head (pipes off bike). Secure the other side with hose clamp or whatever. Let dry for a bit. Spray with silicone spray several times. Reinstall. Ride. It is very simple to do, but it does help to have an extra set of hands around. Wear rubber gloves so the fiberglass does not get in your hands. Mud from the Dyna section has a great tutorial on his homepage too.

Don't soak black wrap or the color will bleed out.

If you spray with the high temp spray it will restore the color. The black will face eventually regardless.

This is not intended to be a smartass question. Why do you wrap the pipes? What does the wrap do?
