Default Front brake pad replacement

So I am out riding today. And as I am coming to a stop, I smell brakes. You know that stinky nasty smell. Well anyway, I think it might be someone around me. It wasn't. The next time I stopped I smelled it again. So I pull over and looked, and I need to replace the front pads. They are still stock with 20,200 miles on them.I have dual front brakes.

My questions are: Are the Harley pads any good? They are more money then after market for sure, but that's everything Harley. Also, what other brands are good? And I might as well replace the rear pads too. They were replaced once before and they look about ready to go again. I have a $140 credit at my local Harley dealer, so I was just going to go there and get the pads.

I have done many car brakes and bled them and the whole deal. Are the bike brakes basically the same deal to bleed and replace? I was just wondering because of the way the dual brake lines are routed into 1 line into the handlebar resevoir? Are there any tricks to it at all.

Thanks

I just loosened up the caliper, removed the used pads, compressed the piston and installed the new. No need to bleed the master cylinder. I picked up some cintered pads from ebay for a fraction of what the dealers or indy shops wanted. They have nearly 10k miles on them and they're wearing well.

That's what I was hoping for. I have the "C" clamps to compress the pistons so it will probably be no harder then a car.

The pads on Ebay are way cheaper, but I wasn't sure on the quality.

Thanks

JPCycles.com has some nice replacement pads for about $30.

I spent a lot on those lyndall racing pads that everyone said were just the ****. Yeah, they are exactly the same. Less dust but hardly any extra stopping power. Not worth the money to me.

So I did some research on this. J&P cycles has pads from $21 to $51 Harley only offers 1 type and they are $44. I called 2 local shops here in Cleveland, 1 shop had them for $24 and the other shop was $28. All these prices are for 1 pair of pads. I need 3 pairs. 2 pairs on the front, and 1 pair on the rear.

I do have a $140 credit at the Harley dealer, but I would have to use the entire credit.
