Default Tire help

I need help..... Im due for tires, and once again, I must turn to yall for advice. I want something that grips better than these stock dunlops, but lasts a while too. Anyone know how Avon tires act on a HD, or the Michelin Commander tires??? Any help or recommendations would be great. Thanks again.

I believe the consensus here is Metzeler ME880 are the best overall tire for the price.Great handling and last a very long time.

My recent change from Dunlop to Metzler might be best money I have spent on the Sporty.

I've heard a whole bunch of mixed opinions on the metzlers. It seems that with the greatly varying riding styles, they are either a LOVE EM or HATE EM kind of deal. I do tend to ride kind of aggressively, sometimes. I think Im going to go with the Michelin's. They have more tread, and have excellent reviews.
I just wanted to see what everyone else is running, and how they like em (except dunlops).

Both the Metz or Avons are fine choices. I've ran two sets of Metz's in the past, and I'm now on a set of Avons. Both will hold the road better than the stock Dunlops due to having a softer rubber compound.

I've no experience of Metzlers, but they do sem to be a popular choice here. I havent had occassion to change the tryres on my Sporty so far, but on all my previous bikes (not Harleys or Cruisers) I have always fitted Avons and swear by them. I certainly inted putting a set on the Sporty when the time is right.

Wow, that's interesting. You post a question at almost midnight, wait less than 2 hours, get no recommendations for Michelin's, and decide to choose Michelin.

FYI, I have a riding buddy that read all those good reviews on Michelin's and decided to give them a try. After 10,000 miles, his opinion is Never Again.
