I would like to get some input on what I should do as far a fuel/tuner module on my '09 Iron.. I've got basic mods: Vance and Hines Short Shots, Screaming Eagle Heavy Breather, and Screaming Eagle Plug Wires...
With all mods on the bike ran ok, but a little flat on low end. With the H-D stage 1 download or whatever its called my rev limiter was raised and the low end still seems a little lacking imo.. up top she screams though!!
Future mods I would like to do are a 1250cc kit or thunderbolt heads and supporting mods etc.. and a 25ish shot of nitrous just to play with..
My question is should i check out powercommanders efi tuner essentially its the pcIII with some extra goodies from what I under stand and retails for $230
Or should I just get the Vance and Hines Fuel pack
or really fork some money over and by the H-D race tuner..(my only quarrel here is I have to bring Harley money everytime I wanna mod the bike!!)
Just my opinion, but given that you want to upgrade the engine later, I would choose a product that would allow for that expansion, any additional mods, and would give you the best tuning combination possible--I would go with the new HD SE Super Pro Tuner or the Mastertune TTS. I based my opinion upon the fact that you are focused on performance.
my fuel managment is a techflusion tfi, and it rocks. no soft low end, no hesitations- this bike is hot all the time. tuned it a bit rich. with the big sucker and pipes, a richer setting gets this bike to run right! runs great and temps stay low too.
LInks?? Best price websites?? I would like to get more feed back on this issue i'm deff gonna do some more mods 09fxdfwdhgs but that tuner is $500 even plus dyno time and labor etc everytime I go to Harley.. I've got a tuner local that would use a power comander and data log/ custom tune for reasonable..
Wanabe you got a website to that tuner that gives specs?? Did I spell it wrong??
You can tune the SE Pro Super Tuner yourself. All you need is the software and the cable to go with it. Most indies that work on Harleys should have the software and cable and be able to work with it on their dyno.
The Screaming Eagle Pro Super Tuner is by far the best tuner you can buy for a Harley Davidson motorcycle. People have dyno tuned with the Power Commanders and such and then dyno tuned with the Super Tuner and gained 10hp or more over the PC tune. It is made specifically for the HD bikes where the others are not and are just "piggy-backs" for the ECM. Since the super tuner is not a "piggy-back" tuner there is no additional modules to hide on the bike like there is with PC and such.
If you plan on doing any mods besides exhaust and air cleaner stay away from the fuelpak.
Cool thx for the input Joe.. I think I may ride the summer on the HD shops stage one efi tune or whatever they call it and save some money for the super tuner..
