Metal shavings in trans fluid??

On the Sportsters you get a 'double wammie', as the fluid is shared by both the clutch plates and the transmission gears.
On the big twins you will also get the fine 'dust' on the magnetic drain plug for the primary (which doesn't share oil with the transmission).
Fine 'dust' on the magnetic plugs (either tranny or primary) is normal.
But if you start getting hard particals such as chunks or shavings you have a problem.
