I have 4" risers with my mini apes and can't imagine them being any lower or higher. Please use the poly bushings and not the rubber ones when you do the install.
Maybe thats my problem. I have rubber bushing. I will go to the HD store an purchase some poly bushing, Thanks.
Now has anyone experienced, having the throttle/idle cables all the way opened, adjusting the throttle per manual, and not having the grip spring back into place. Now keep in mind, both cables are opened all the way, so if I try to adjust the idle it will only make it stiffer?
When I had a local bike shop order my cable, I had both cables +6. Does one have to be a slight larger/smaller than the other?
This is very frustating, but dont get me wrong I love working on the bike and learning new things.
I have an 09 Iron with the harley mini apes and licks 3.5" straight risers, and the only cable I replaced was the brake cable. The others are a little tight but still fit. My gas tank is raised about an inch and a half, so the top clamp is now level with the top of the gas tank, so it looks good.
I like your setup. Do you have a rough idea of the rise and pullback with this setup? According to HD information, their mini apes give 8.75" rise and 6.5" pullback. I wanted to add to that to get 11-12" rise and 8-9" pullback. Thanks.
Should ask too how tall are you?

Reason: additional information
I'm about 5'11", and the rise and pullback kinda depends on how you mount them I have mine pushed forward gangsta style, but if you mount them about parallel to the front forks, I think the harley bars are about a 10" rise, and with 3.5" straight risers, they're right around 14".
