Watch you don't have the tire into the rear fender.
With the progressives, as you go longer, the travel increases, giving a much nicer ride, and mostly a bit more ground clearance, BUT the wheel travel increases, so compressed, the shock will have the same clearance between the tire and fender.
Put lowering blocks on and the tire may hit the fender when the shocks compress all the way.

If you HAVE to look cool with a low ride, stay with the same length shock, the ride will be better with the same look.
I have a set of heavy duty progressives 12 inch shocks with 400 miles on them for sale.
I went to 12.5 (up an inch over stock), and love the ride and ground clearance!

Do you still have the 12 inch shocks for sale, if so how much? We just bought a Nightster for my wife and it will also be our 2-up bike. Yesterday we did over 300 miles, as we all know the stock shocks are terrible and we won't even think about any kind of mileage again without a suspension upgrade. We have the Sundowner seat.

I would prefer to also go to the 12.5 inch 412s however am concerned about raising the bike too much for my wife who is 5' 3", thus the reason we chose the Nightster.

Thanks in advance, appreciate the info you've already posted...

Cool Lowering Blocks

They Also change the load on the bolts and shock mounts greatly Increasing It. A shock leaned farther back has a more progressive action.
I have heard of Lowering blocks breaking and making a stiffer or HD progressive spring feel even heavier.
A way to compensate would be Lowering blocks and a lighter load spring on the progressive shock,,That company will work with you tho,,,
Lowering blocks alow a longer shock for a given ride height and any progressive shock/spring combo will function better with any extra length you can stand..

The shocks are sold, and the new owner loves them!

Personaly, I would not use the lowering blocks, there IS a lot of force on things.
I hit some whoppers on the road lately, one on a ramp at about 50 mph that I did not see at all, after I hit it I pulled over expecting dented mag's, but they look ok.
I am really surprised a tire did not blow...
I would never run them two up...

I went an inch over stock, and cant see any difference in the way the bike looks...

You would never run them two up... ??? You lost me there, in #2 of this thread you said the ride was much smoother.

I would never run lowering blocks two up.
I would not run them at all, but two up is asking for trouble!
