Question 2010 iron

Hey guys,
I have a 2010 883 iron and it wont go faster than 95mph. I've been told that there is a Rev regulator that limits it... dose anyone have ideas on how to go faster!!!

There is a rev limiter on 883s which prevents the bike from going over 5000 or 6000 RPM, I believe--someone please correct me if my numbers are incorrect. That's the way the stock download is set-up from the factory.
If you want top-end speed, add a high flow air filter kit, a 2 in 1 exhaust, and a tuner which when properly installed will replace or overwrite the existing factory download and eliminate that stock buffer. You can, if you have the cash, upgrade to a 1250 NHRS kit or HD SE 1200 coversion kit for even more hp/tq, then the bike will need to be retuned again with the upgraded engine.

Hope this helps.

Hey thanks for the input.. I had ideas but another's opinion never hurts. FYI I changed seats to a Springer and the rides have been much better ever since.

I keep going back and forth on the Springer seat--how does it ride on the highway? Some folks have said it's a little unsettling, particularly at the speeds you appear to ride. Ever feel like you're about to get launched right off of it going over bumps?

And not very often but when you do you don't want anything telling you when to stop.

I've done 400+ miles trips on both and I prefer the Springer, it adds some extra suspension and a little more character. My seat sits a little high so as you speed up it pushes you down into it. I'll try and post pics later.

I did about 800 miles with a springer seat on an iron a couple weeks ago, the roads in the midwest are pretty bad, I hit a couple big potholes and the spring seat would bounce my rear end in the air like I was standing straight up. Not a really good feeling, but with the stock seat it would have shot straight thru my spine. I definitely like the extra suspension, and for the shorter bike trips it's really comfortable.

After adding the pipes and the new air cleaner I went from around 95 to 105-110. Sounds a lot better too.
