I too have a 1200L Going to be changing to drag bars over the winter when dealership offers "chrome specials"
I will probably use pull back risers so as too not lean too much forward. probably will need wire extensions and definately new cables. If I were you I would do the turn signal relocation to the fron forks. Here is part number 68517-94A

I think that relocating the turn signals to the tubes/forks (along with changing out the 'orange' lens to 'smoked') looks a lot better than stock.

Not sure about the HD relocation kit, but some of the various kits have the signals sticking out quite a bit from the tubes. I like them sitting pretty close to the tubes.

The HD kit definitely sticks them out farther than what you have OFG. They probably stick out about 4" altogether. If I remember correctly it's a DOT regulation or something. Anyway, I have the kit and like the way it looks having the relocation. I don't like them being on the handlebars.

It could be that Harley examined the currently equipment State Laws dealing with turn signals, and made their stock relocation kit a certain width from the tubes/forks so they would be legal in all 50 states.

I like the idea of having turn signals, but where I live you are not required to run turn signals on any year motorcycle. Not that I would do it, but you could buy a new bike of any type, yank off the front and rear turn signals, and be 100% legal.

Here is an interesting little site... You tell it what State you want to check, and it will give you a page with all type of equipment requirements specific to that State.

Has all kinds of information, including (in part), helmets, eye protection, headlight, seat, footrest, passenger age restriction, mirrors, turn signals, mufflers, sound limits, handlebars, and a bunch of other stuff.

Kind of fun to look at equipment requirements in various States...
