Don't have the time to do this project myself so I'm taking her in. My questions are- how much damage, if any, will I cause by driving it 20-miles to get repaired? It's no longer under warranty so is this something only HD should do or is a local indy ok? I should probably have both seals replaced eyh?
Yeah, an indy shop may be the best bet. They're usually less expensive and unbiased as to what parts or, in your case, fluids to use and can suit your needs better in regards to ride & handling.
Over filled oil - as stated above is one reason - change one seal refill both tubes.
Rot - not riding the bike for a long time and it just sat - then yes change both.
Road debris - chip on fork tube, for example, cut the seal so the seal now leaks. Change one seal and repair the tube.
No harm in riding 20 miles. Change both seals - depends on why it is leaking.
