I installed drag bars on my sporty and essentially it's easy. Just be careful with the wiring on the switch housing so you don't pinch it like I apparently did.

I was going to do it myself after HD wanted over $200 labor plus the bar. I found an independant chopper shop in my city who charged me $100.00 - I watched them do part of it and I`m glad I let them do it - I`d say it was a bit complicated (for me) I would attempt it in the future but only as a winter job as if I screwed something up I would`nt be able to ride for a few days or longer - if you have the time and do it slowly go for it but if you can`t afford any down time, have a pro do it.

If you chect a post (maybe biking is`nt for me - or close to that) the guy did his bars himself and pinched a wire and now some electrical parts don`t work.

Not hard at all. Like was said before, just be careful. Take it slowly and make sure you don't pinch a wire. Look for a thread on this. There should also be one on changing grips since you will be doing this in the swap. And heck, I figure that if I can do it, just about anyone can.

Not that hard, except the wire pinching problem that happens alot. Tip someone gave me is put a piece of electrical tape where it would be covered completly to hold the wires in place and another where it will be easy to remove after you have everything done.

Just be careful with the wiring, the bars themselves are easy.
