Talking Stupid question 049

What is the little sproket under the trottle handle? Tension for the cables, throttle adjust? Electronic headlight adjust?

Man I feel dumb asking this but I have not recieved the manual I bought.

It's a throttle lock so you can rest you hand when it gets tired or falls a sleep. Sort of like a cruise control.

you can also use it to adjust the tension on your throttle. if its backed out (loose) any little bump may cause you to blip the throttle. snug it a bit, little more effort but not to sensative. and like what was posted...cruisin down the road, you can snug it enough to take your hand from it.

I wouldn't suggest riding with it tightened at all. Maybe a few resting minutes running down the empty superslab but not around town. There was a post in here where a rider inadvertently tightened his up and rear ended a cage. I think he was a bit upset and didn't think it should be there.

i wasnt endorsing locking it down at speed, as asm481 stated in the city or with heavy traffic present. but if on an open road to give your hand a rest you can or another example, this past winter (pretty cold), i did this long enough to rest my right gloved hand on the rear jug to warm it up. but as stated, it is not a cruise and will not back off by hitting your brakes...you will manually have to back the star (loosen) or if something happens you just simply rotate the throttle back by hand.
