If I had the know how to make parts like that I'd do it my self too!!!! Looks Good, now you don't have the part everyone else does. True individuality. Good Job man!!
I like that u mounted it to the gas tank bolt instead of the coil bracket bolt. I have the autometer ring, it works but looks cheesy, too many other projects before making my own, maybe eventually. Making ur own parts is the only way to make a "custom" bike. Anyone can buy store-bought garbage. again nice job.
I def agree! i think custom parts are way better, im fortunate enough to have a buddy who fabs stuff up for me.
I was looking in getting the Autometer mount but i wanted something to help me mount to the fork leg, than i found this Autometer mount(http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ATM-48005/)... looks pretty sick, i have not tried it yet. Just did a 48 Speedo mount so i am not sure if i want to get rid of it haha
In the Harley Catalog is a part 67294-95A -- which is the chrome version of the powder black tach/speedo bracket for 03 Sportsters and many other models -- Many people have had problems with this part breaking at the fastening point. Mine twice. Others even more. Just too heavy for cast material to withstand shock, jarring, vibration -- it seems. Much $$ to replace -- about $100 incl shipping.
Take a look -- will come back for a possible post from you.
Do you think you could do one up for a dual tach speedo for an o3 sportster to replace the cast aluminum ones harley sells -- they break. just check the thread on this site to see problem.
I see that yours is not cast aluminum, so the only thing to break is the weld, which does not look like it is at a stress point.

if it is how in the hell do you mount it to the bike?
Bolts to various places on the bike. Some say it'll bolt onto where the tank mounts to the frame, but it didn't for me so I screwed it onto the fuel pump.

what this bracket all you needed? hows it working out for you?
