Need some stage 1 help
1200 Low,....... 1500mi. Had some carb cough when I first bought the bike,someone said to do a stage one on the bike, so waht I did was add a pair of Cycle Shack pipes "and that was it the bike has not had the carb cough and runs great My question is by NOT re-jetting the carb is there any chance that I will do some damage to engine?.

If it is a late model bike, they run very lean and anything you do to increase the flow through the engine will lean it out. I would rejet the carb a bit and add the K&N intake (stage 1) For now with just the mufflers, you can richen it up a bit with the idle mixture screw on the bottom of the carb that is usually consealed with a plug that you remove.
It will run better with the addition of the air filter kit and the jetting. It will also run a bit cooler too.
A stage one usually refers to the intake kit and some kind of slip ons to enhance the flow
