Default service periods?

i have an iron 883(2010) and after 1600km first service ,the dealer wants me to

come service again every 4000km.

but in the sportster owners book, service interval schedule shows that i have to
go service every 8000km.

anyone idea about it ?? i wrote a mail UK customer support but no answer.

ps: i live in Turkey

Follow the book. The "stealer" is just trying to sucker you out of extra $$$.

It's 8000 km.
I took mine in until the warranty ran out just in case, once the warranty ran out they will never see it again, I do my own work then I know it's done right.

Mr Turkey,

It is your ride, you make the rules.

You must tell the dealer if he want's to see your bike again he will play by the rules.
I live in Israel and they tried that stuff on me too, just look them straight in the eye and read them the riot act, remember you ride a HARLEY, proove it.

They are in it for the money and telling them you will take it to Cypress rather than bring it back if they want to play games.

But,

When all is said and done when Harley goes out of business the dealer in turkey won't have parts either. It's a bit*h isn't it?

I've thought about riding in turkey, whats it like there?

Regards,
