we`ve got 112hp out of the conversion,on an average we get around 80-85 on a milder build, bore your cylinders and either have your heads done,or get some 1200 heads,by the way,we`re down in bloomington,in.(1100 or t-storm heads work VERY well too)

Thanks for the replys.

Guess I will just have new gaskets put in the rocker box's, might as well do both at the same time.
Will save my money and waite until a different bike comes along.
Guess I got spoiled rideing around on that Yama 950.

Aint looking for a power bike that goes lickety split, aint got no use for a crotchity rocket, just want a nice bike that can easly cursie around and get up and go when needed.

Cause that is what I am looking for, more top end speed.

I know I don't have a power bike and thats fine, I am just looking for a way to go faster.
If your 883 sportster won't deliver at least 95 MPH something ain't right .. the 1200 should deliver 110+ without straining ..

+1 on Dan at NRHS. Knowledgable and helpful. I did my own 1250 conversion a couple of years ago and still grin every time I crack the throttle.

Well my 1999 883C tops out at 80 on the speedo on the bike, when doing 60 and I twist the throttle all that happens is a slow increase of speed.

From a stop to 60 in 1/4 mile and only in 4th gear, 5th gear does not seem to offer much more speed, just a reduction in engine rpms for better gas comsumption.

When my 01 was an 883 zipped to 70 in no time flat, less than 10 seconds anyway if wound it up.. After that took a little longer to get the rest but could manage 100 if wasn't on an uphill grade .. Main reason went for 1200 power ..

1200 conversion will not increase the top end, unless you change the gearing. But you will get there a lot quicker. My stock 883 topped out at 114mph.. I haven't changed any of the gearing, it still tops out at 114 mph. But it will pull the front wheel off the ground and stand up if you want to. Which I don't...But torque is fun...off the line...she's a bad bitch

maybe different sprockets give him what he wants without the cost of a conversion?

I don't know just throwin it out there

either way it sounds like that 883 is getting tired and needs some work anyway
good luck to the op with whatever you decide
