Anyone know where I can find a thin or slim brake light lens? I remove my license plate holder and put a vertical mount but the brake lens still has the white top for a the light and I dont like it plus it sticks to far out for my liking. Any ideas would be welcome.
The lay down lense is the slimmest you'll be able to use because of the bulb. And even then you need to make sure the bulb doesn't touch the lense. I see alot of them with a melted circle right in the middle.
You can always paint the inside of the clear part red, or get a tail light lense repair kit, the kit has pieces of colored plastic you can use that to replace the clear part of the lense. It is sold at Advance Auto Parts.
Yeah I thought about maybe painting it from the inside or something. I just figured someone has to make a replacement lens that does not have the clear on top for the plate light. I also thought about just completely replacing the tail light or even making my turn signals into turn/brake lights. Has anyone seen this done on the sportsters? I know of a few people that have done it on some metrics.
The module is a good idea but you'll have a big hole in your fender where the tail light was...much bigger than the holes left from removing the license plate brkt.
I bought a lay down tail light lense from J & P once and the clear part for the license plate was on the bottom instead of the top. I don't know why, but I'm sure they have more of those.
Thanks guys, I dug around on the kuryakyn website and found one that was a laydown without the clear for $50. Not to bad I guess, price of doing business.
Thanks again for all the help, alot of knowledgeable people on here and you guys are definitely a lot nicer than some of the other forums around, so please don't change.

Good luck with the Kuryakyn part, I don't think they can make a good product. They make nice looking stuff, but it just does not hold up.
