Started the winter project. Already a few twists and turns. Head bolt stud problem and now today the tank wont drain.
Ran the bike turned the fuel line off, let it run until it stalled. Removed the carb and set it up to drain the tank today. Connected a plastic tube to the end of the tube that came off the carb and into a 5 gallon tank, turned it to reserve, nada, turned it on, nada, tried sucking a little on it, nada...tasted like chit!
Any ideas or guidance would be appreciated. Thanks everyone. Its time for a drink, outside of that, i stripped the bike down quickly !
Some petcocks have a vacuum line so fuel will only flow when the engine is running, try sucking on that.
Or you can just remove the tank and tip it up side down.
do you think my mighty vac will do the trick so i dont have to stick that tube in my mouth?
It might......but its going to take a dam long time draining a full tank out the 1/4" line. It will be a lot quicker to remove the tank and pour the fuel out.
