ORIGINAL: Rhubarb

I had on checkerboard vans and an Independent Trucks shirt
Blast from the past! As a skater back in the 80's I remember those things PERFECTLY. Independent trucks and did you ever have gorrilla ribs? Btw... have you seen how much some of those boards go for on ebay these days? I sold all of my boards (Sims Flagship, Steve Steadham, Rob Roskopp and Vision Gator) back in the 80s. Now I see them on ebay for mega bucks. Wtf?

Sorry, got off track there for a minute.

90 plus. Was so scared. Racing a Triumph on the expressway. Had more but, ran out of room and saw no reason to go on. He whomped my ***.
At the start, he was behind me but, passing in the usual manner (around 70). When he realized that I was racing him, he punched it. Made me feel a little humbled. The reason I say 90 plus is because above 90, I dared not take my eyes off the road. Felt like there wasn't much between me and the road. Wind speed and noise were high even with my windshield. Don't plan these sort of things, just happened.

bigtop, if that was one of those Triumph triple water cooled jobs, with all the plastic, etc. they can do 150/160 EASY... we don't stand a chance against them. I've had my 06 883, now 1200, since about March. I'm finally realizing just what it is NOT. It's NOT a crotch rocket. It's NOT a full blown cruiser couch on wheels. BUT, it is a Harley Davidson, with all the Harley torque, sound, and looks. It is what it is. I enjoy putt putting along at 45 50 in high gear, and when I want to go faster, just twist the grip, and feel that torque. No need to downshift, as you would on a rocket, or that Triumph you played with. I run mine up to 100 or a tad over, almost every time I ride it, just for a quick rush. If you want speed, there's lots of mahines out there that will go fast enough to peel the skin off your face. Kinda like being straped to the hood of a car that's doing 160 mph....... naw, I'll take my Harley, any day. Reliable, always ready to go for a ride, low maintenance, nice sound (drag pipes), and it's a "HARLEY" :-)
