Adding an HD security system....
Just looking for thoughts and opinions.....
Is adding a HD security system to a 2010 "48" a worthwhile investment for an avid rider?
Thx.

i think its a great idea , i put one on my sporty , and its quite a deterrent , when the light flash and the siren chirps to arm it , people ask me . if it has an alarm and i tell them yes and a siren and it disables the ignition , if it is stolen they need to replace the entire ignition system and get new key fobs from a dealer , just too start it . boy i get smiles from most folks and looks of disappointment from the dudes who thought they could just pick it up and run off with it and have a nice bike too ride around on. great investment. anything you can do to stop a thief is worth it if you like your ride
Don't know who told you that about the HD security system but you are totally wrong.
I'm pretty sure the people that steal bikes can get around any security they want to. I do believe, tho, that it will keep the honest people honest. Mostly I don't even lock my forks or ignition. If they need it that bad, they can have it.
Mine came with it, i added the Siren.
Not to deter Motorcycle thieves, to deter would-be jerk-offs from sitting on my bike when it's parked and out of my site.
I agree.
If someone wants anything you have bad enough... they're gonna take it.
The alarm is annoying when you wanna disconnect the battery or move the bike in the garage without getting the key off the dresser; but it's a lot better than finding your bike on it's side in a parking spot from some idiot fooling around on it when you're not there.

I agree with the guys who say that people will just take it. It is extremely easy just to lift/roll it into the back of a flatbed or pickup and drive off and deal with the system later. You might want to look into a GPS locator like Lo-Jack or something instead. I know a guy who got his bike back expressly because he had a lo-jack on it. Busted a chop shop/theft ring in the process.
If they wan't It they will take It,,
I have the screaming alarm,,
Motion sets It off,,
Its lound as hell,,
Someone tries to pick It up It will warn them,,
they cut the power,,the internal alarm battery will keep her screamin,,,
I'll have plenty of time to "Give them a life changing Experience"
Crooks look for easy targets,,,,,
If they Pick mine I'm gonna make em bleed.
