Hey guys here is a different question for y'all, what do you use for a helmet lock? On my old Intruder I had a lock on the side of the fender to lock and hold my helmet when away but my Sporty doesnt have one. The wife is always afraid to leave the helmet with the thought of having to ride without if it were stolen while at the movies or whatever.
I had moved my front turnsignals down to the bottom triple tree, so I had 2 empty holes left open were the blinkers use to be. They are threaded 5/16-18tpi. So I made(machined) 2 s.s. bullets to screw in there place. The bullets are 1/2" dia., machined to a point. Then I drilled a hole thru them to fit a small padlock. Now I can lock my helment on one, and on the other side I have a cross hanging. Or a bell if you prefer. Just my 2 cents
I went to the Police Station and asked for two pistol locks, which they gave me. Most of the time they are free (gun safety and all of that), I keep them in my tool bag, secure little critters and the cable is coated so no scrapping or scratching.
I carry my helmet with me. This is Michigan, so if I left my helmet on the bike, it would rain or snow in it. If I take it with me, the weather stays nice.
I just leave my helmet hanging from the mirror, foot peg, backrest, or on the saddlebag.............cause who in the hell is going to steal my nasty old stinkin' scratched all to hell beanie helmet anyways.

I have had two helmets stolen off my bike, so I take no more chances - they ain't cheap! It's a terrible way to live but that's the way it is today.
