just get a fullface. if you look stupid no one will know who you are.
besides you wont get ticketed for it and if you fall off you'll get to keep your pretty smile.
i hate helmets. but i wear a fullface when i have to wear one.
What he said...
I wear a flat black Shoei RF 1100... and love it.
Either wear a quality FF helmet or do the Bandana and Sunglasses thing... i'm an ALL OR NONE kinda guy. The Full face helmet makes all the difference at dusk when you've got a thousand bugs between you and your destination. I don't mind getting called 'Darth Vadar' for wearing a FF when bar-hopping on a Saturday with a coupla friends on metrics with windshields (so they can smoke AND ride) while wearing shorts and flip flops. I'll hedge my bet's with jeans, steal-toes, and a FF even though i'm rocking a sleeve-less shirt most time during the summer and enjoying a few barley sodas.
In all seriousness Cooper exited at less than 200 knots and 10k feet. That is not the typical flight profile of a commercial jet. More like 500 knots and 35k feet. That isnt survivable.

Are you sure he died? Or is he somewhere enjoying his 'fame'? And you may not realize this but commercial jets don't magically go to "More like 500 knots and 35k feet". There is a period before they reach, and after they leave, their cruising speed/height.
I quit racing in the 70s when they ruled all riders had to wear full face buckets AND cervical neck braces. I could not turn my head fast enough to see who was along side me.
Never had a problem turning my head and vision with a visor is better than with goggles or glasses that allow the wind to make my eyes water. Me thinks your full of BS. If you've ever raced you would know it is not a good idea to take your eyes off the road mid corner to focus on someone beside you that is trying to overtake you. They are the one that has the obligation to pass safely, not the other way around, and you don't change your line mid corner.
I'm not aware of any GP racers from the 70's that did not wear one. In fact you need to go back to the early/mid 60's to see a motorcycle racer not wearing a full face helmet. Never seen anyone competing in motor sports without one. Could it be there is a reason for that? As for neck braces like the Leatt brace, they were only invented in the last 10 years or so.
