Brawler style seat on 99 Sporty Custom
I've searched a bit and can't seem to find an answer to my question so was hoping someone can help me out. I like the look of the Brawler seat on the newer bikes but I found that the brawler for my year doesn't look like that at all so I was wondering what is the difference with mounting and if it was possible for a seat from a newer bike to mount on the older (pre '03) bikes? Also allot of talk on tank size, does that make a difference for the older sporties and possibly one of the seats from a newer bike with the same size tank would be able to fit? Any insight is much appreciated. Thanks!

The front mount is different between the pre'03s and the '04+ due to different frame design. I'm not sure how hard it would be to alter the '04+ seat to fit the pre-'03s. The only "Tank Issues" for the pre-03s is if you have an aftermarket stretched tank on the bike then you may need to trim some of the foam from the nose of the seat. Most of the tank/seat interaction issues you're probably looking at/reading about refers to the newer sportys due to the various 2.2, 3.3 and 4.5 gallon tanks.
