I purchased a security system for my 2004 sportster 883 and it tells me to run a diagnostic test from the electrical diagnostic manual after it is installed. Does anyone know how to run this check. If I have to buy the manual i guess I will but if its just a simple check that can be explained here I ld rather save the 60 bucks. Thanks David
Dam, And I got New HD Alarm System coming for my 05 roadster. So Now I got to buy the Electronic manaul too. What a bummer. Had every intention of buying it But Not Right Now. HD = Money, money, money.....
so far I've talked to Harley dealer and they say plug it in and it should work. However, they cant even tell me where to plug it in or what a electrical diagnostic manual is? LOL Imagine that. To top it off, every aftermarket product I have bought since this bike does not come close to being made in America. Hong Kong Taiwan Japan Singnapore,, whatever happened to Duluth, Milwaukee, and Detroit. Just goes to show, never underestimate the power of commercialism. David

Hmmm strange, So didnt the manual tell you where to plug it in at. guess I will find out when I get mine in the mail.
My assumption would be that they want you to check to see if your system will hold the current draw without killing the battery. Pretty much the same as a cars alarm, but since bikes don't get as much use the parasitic loss on your battery will kill it pretty quick.
Sorry guys lost my computor for a while. Any way the TSM is under the battery pan behind the left side cover. just unplug the TSM and plug in the Security TSM. then all is well. thanks for the info and input. I run the bike a few times a week so it doesnt seem to be effecting battery supply as of yet. Dave
