What's the thing the pegs bolt to?? I picked up a set of pegs that are a bit too big and need to replace those "things" with one's that have a slightly larger opening.
Didn't say what model Sportster you have. If it's a Forty-Eight the regular pegs that fit probably every other Harley won't fit, they're too big. You have to get a mount (Clevis) off a nightster or grind/sand down the peg mount to fit into the Forty-Eight mount. Don't know why Harley did this but it is what it is.
I have an '01 1200C and I'm not referring to the frame of the bike itself. What I am referring to is the piece the peg bolts to (it has an allen bolt inside the middle where the peg connects in) that allows you to fold it back if needed. If I were to ask for this part would I just reference it as a Clevis or something else?
The size is universal, so if the pegs do not fit it may be an issue with the peg itself, and not the clevis. You may want to re-check with the maker of the peg as to what size they are (or suppose to be). Chances are that if you get another mount, it will be of the same size and the peg still will not fit.
