I'm shopping around for air cleaners for my 2007 EFI now that I have opted for the Fuelmoto PCIII tuner.
I was just wondering, do I have to go for the Stage 1 Big Sucker, or can I jump straight to the Stage 2 Big Sucker and just alter the map on the PCIII to match? Will that work with my stock header pipes and SEII slip-ons for the time being until I can afford new pipes? Or will it be pointless (or harmful to engine)?
Stick with the BS I, it will flow plenty for your bike..... The BS II is more for stage 3+ motors. Plus the BS II (8 inch) is really going to be in the way of your knee.
I went straight to the BS 2 on mine using the "bigger is better" theory. It won't hurt anything, but the filter requires an 8" cover, and there are only two of them out there, both made by Ness. If you think you might want to get creative with your air cleaner cover at some point, go with the stage 1.
I have the Big Sucker 2 and it actually 2" smaller than the stock air cleaner .
That would be a inch in the front and rear of the cleaner. And a BS II would be all for looks unless you port your carb and intake. The BS I. will flow more air than the Stock CV/TB will draw.
Shes only going a stage one on the bike and really just wants to put her knee against the tank.
