Default Ride minus fuel controller

2011 48 with V&H short shots and performance machine intake. After a recommendation from the president of a fuel controller company, I didn't purchase any. So, yesterday was the first day over 35 and I decided to take the bike out for the first time. Needless to say, just as he said, the FI system seemed to compensate just fine for the parts installed on the bike. Not one pop or backfire. Crisp throttle response. No hesitations or jerkiness. So far, just as he said, nice thing to have, but the bike will ride fine without it. I'll keep you guys posted as the weather slowly begins to warm. I'll let you know if anything performance-wise begins to change.

No no, you gotta get a fuel pak, some Xieds and a SESPT and put em all on at the same time or she'll never run right!

At least put it on a dyno and check your air/fuel ratio, if it is running too lean you may do damage as the weather heats up.

I had to add a fuel pak because of the decel popping and after doing that its virtually gone. So some might need it and some wont.

My father is an ASE Mechanic, and if you ask any professional, they will tell you them same thing HotLap mentioned. Running leans = heat and eventually major engine failure. Don't cheap out on you ride or you may be in for some major spending later.

As has been said, pull the plugs after a good bit of riding. If they are a nice color, you are probably not too lean. However, at 35 degrees and with cold rich air, you might be OK while at 90 degrees and thin hot air you might not. Recheck in warm weather.

I'm thinking about purchasing some V&H side shots for my '08 nightster...it already has screaming eagle pipes with the stage one download. Anyone know if I need to do anything to it, if I switch from the SE to the V&H Side Shots?

I need all the power on my bike...lol

yeah like everyone else said once the weather heats up you're in trouble if you continue to run it like that.
