Hey family. well since i bought the bike in 08 i been wanting to chop this fvcken sportster. i started with a case of sierra nevada annivesary ale and a chicken cutlet with broccoli rabe, long hot peppers and sharp provolone on a seeded crusty roll (only in philly but homemade of course). i removed everything from the rear, jacked it up and dropped the suspension and just tore into it, 5min. later the struts were gone. took the grinder to the struts to round them out a bit, didn't want to leave them completely straight and might round them out a bit more. chopped the fender and remounted and shortened the wires for the rear signals, just haven't mounted them yet until i find the right bolts. might buy some "all thread" and make my own. buddy of mine is extending my batt. box cover a bit to fit all my electronics so i'll post more pics when i get that back. here it is for now. let me know what you think. it's late and i'm drunk!
more pics. the ends of the struts still need to be patined......and some new bars i'm fittin'. let me know what you think about the bars. i'm diggin them and may go back to mid controls.
That was cracking me up too. I was flashing on the look that would be on my old lady's face if she walked in to find me shooting a stream of sparks across the carpet with my disc sander, never mind my bike being in there.
And she probably wouldn't be happy about the oil change I'd just done in there either. Or that I spray painted some parts on the dining room table before that.
Or that I had used brake cleaner in the aquarium cleaning parts.
But evidently for him, no problem. The dude rules!

yup....wife walked in from work too as sparks were flying off this sum bitch and said, i'm proud of you, and gave me a kiss! technically it's my garage/laundry room with some french doors thrown on so i can ride the bike right in. wife calls it the "bike room", as long as she's ok with it!? she knows i been wanting to do this for a while and it was all her fault that it hasn't been done sooner. i wanna get on the back, i don't wanna get on the back......thank god she made her fvcken mind up. thanks for the compliments guys. more work to be done so i'll update this thread with pics as i get them.
