yes I got it for the looks but does seem to add a little in the highrer rpms
as far as not breathing well mines works great and has for the last 50 thou miles.
anybody got one for sale for a 96 sporty my son wants one for his..
can anyone tell me anythin about the hypercharger?? Is it good? Is it bad? etc.
planing to put it on my iron...any input would be greatly appreciated.
Can I also ask (hope you don't mind jisananimal) does it breathe less, more or the same as a screaming eagle stage 1 filter/intake.
I'm also thinking of adding one to my iron as well, went to Harley dealership and saw a wrinkle black one on a iron at the weekend, one word, SEXY!
I had a Hypercharger on my Sportster for a few years. I won't say it doesn't work as high-flow air cleaner, but, it's not worth the price. I'll admit that I bought it because I thought it looked cool, but, the novelty wore off quickly. I never replaced it because I spent so much money on it. When I had to take it off my bike to install new throttle cables, I found the backing plate was cracked through and rusting so I switched over to a Ness Big Sucker.
If money's not an object, I'd look into what Joker Machine has to offer...they make really nice stuff.
Do some research...tons of posts online (different forums) w/problems. Bottom line - looks good, but poor performance. One of the best functioning & recommended breather(s) is HD's SE intake. I almost got one for my FLHX, but added vented lowers so it doesn't work. Ended up w/LA Choppers xXx intake which works well too. Good luck w/your search.

non taken bro
It does look very cool, but i couldnt see how it could work better then a Joker a/c or a ness one....i would love the roland sands one but it cost way 2 damn much!!!
I have one on my '98 xl1200c. Breathes just fine. It is more for looks than performance, though. It makes a whistling noise when accelerating hard. You can unplug the vacuum when it rains and keep the butterflys closed. I have a SE heavy breather on my '09 Iron. Looks more industrial and has a rain sock that I usually just leave on all the time. Old school hot rod vs. new school industrial. Joker and RSD both make some nice ones too.
Looks cool till it breaks or don't work right and does not breath well. Go with a big sucker, HD heavy breather or RSD intake if you want to spend some cash on one.
