Hello there. Just bid on a trade-in 2005 XL1200C on eBay and won it for $7300 (thru a local HD dealer)...With title, tax and tags = $7850. It's a one owner bike with Screaming Eagle pipes and intake (dealer installed) and a highway bar. 1160 miles. Is this a good deal? It appears to be in great shape with the balance of the factory warranty. It's my first bike and I pick it up in two days. I hope we get some decent weather here in NE Pennsylvania so I can get in some seat time before the snow flies. Any advice for a newbie would be appreciated.
Looks like you got a good deal. Plus you have the warranty still. My only advice is put as many miles as weather permits, as soon as you can to make sure there are no gremlins in it. You have the warranty, so lean on her for a bit to make sure everything is OK.
And -- ride every single chance you get before it snows. But I probably did not need to tell you that!
I plan on getting in as much riding as possible. I probably will also extend the warranty before it expires. Seems like $300 a year (roughly) for a 4 year extension is reasonable. Thanks for the advice.
Congrats, I bought my first ever Harley too... I love it I paid $8,300 from a local dealer for my 03 Sporty... So you got a great deal. My bike had 5000 miles on Vance & Hines pipes, upgraded seat and extra chrome. So I thought I did well..
