Default Engine Knock??

Ok, bought an 08 Nightster last November. just pulled it out for the first ride today. No issues in idle in neutral or in gear....once I start to move though there is a knocking, not a sound from the engine, but a feeling in the handle bars and then through the bike. Help!

Are you lugging the motor? What RPM range are you feeling it in?

I'd maybe check the primary chain adjustment, and take a look at the drain plug magnet of the transmission/primary for chunks of metal.( and change the trans. oil )

It was the steering bearing in the front end, needed to be tightened.
