Default I just want confirmation from you guys....

Ok so here are the few mods I did to the bike (2011 Iron with 400 miles on it):

Solo seat, no rear or front fenders.....(I am pretty sure that's gonna be the issue here) and flipped bars.

Sooooooooo on saturday night I went for a little ride and got caught by a storm. And when I say storm I mean hell on earth. Very heavy rain......sh*t was sprayin' everywhere.

So the next day I went for a ride and noticed that the bike was choking a little bit every now and then.....Took it again yesterday and it would act up a little bit more, losing low end torque and almost stalling a couple times, especially when the bike was cold.

Today was the worst, felt like the bike was running on one cylinder, got the check engine thingy lit up a couple times, for maybe a split second, just long enough to catch my eye.

Now I've been reading previous posts for a good hour on here and heavy rain + solo seat X no fender = no bueno.

So...I understand there are relays under the seat ? And the fuse box should get checked out as well ? Should I replace parts or just take em appart and clean them ? Is this an issue that will resolve itself ? (If it can get wet, it probably can get dry.....just sayin)

I am gonna do all of this tomorrow of the next day but I'd rather hear from you guys so i could make a full ckecklist before having to unbolt sh*t here and there for an hour.....

Thx guys !

Check all fuses, relays and connections for excessive corrosion.

They moved the ECM off the fender in the newer models... I can't seem to recall. I hope it's an easy fix for your bike. It seems a popular option nowadays to remove the fenders. I was hoping to do this myself for next year.

btw, any pics of your iron with flipped bars and no fenders?

I'd check for water in the gas, or at least put in an additive to pick up any moisture.

is the ECM same place as 2011 irons? ie, down behind the rear cyclinder, as in, easier to get water in if you take the fender off?

You've got water in your spark plug cables, probably ignition, probably ECM. Fenders are there for a reason. Likely the under seat area is soaked. It will dry but you need to help it....get some dielectric grease, open everything up, preferably in the sunshine. Dry everything and grease everything. Should do it.

Yeah I know fenders are here for a reason....I just never thought the bike would see the rain as it is garage kept. Lesson learned !

Here is a pic taken last week. I'll take better ones this week end after I take care of all the current issues. Priorities....

EDIT: And rest assured, I will make all these relays/connectors effing waterproof I'll be able to ride underwater....
