couldn't get an inspection with sideshots...so pi$$ed
just what the title says. went to get my inspection done(upstate NY) at the local cycle shop. they guy heard me coming up the road and said "you need to put baffles in those pipes, it wont pass"...so now I'm already annoyed at his blind ignorance because if he was even half the *** hat he is he would've asked me if it had them *which it does*. so now I'm annoyed, i said it does have baffles....
"there's no way that bike has baffles and I'm not doing an inspection, come back when you get baffles in those pipes"...
needless to say this ***** will never get another dime for anything out of me nor will I ever send anyone his way, his business can rot and so can he.
~rant over~
so i guess i need to try and find another shop around here that can get it done,
anyone know if the "quiter baffles" will help me out here, because this is just ridiculous that i cant get my bike road ready when fuel is raping everyone.
Man that harsh. Why would he be such a a**e.
I was talking to my local dealership the other week (in the uk) he was saying pipes are going to be clamped down on end of this year, harder to get pass a MOT, was told he thought sideshots where the first to be picked on as he and the others find them overly aggressive :0(.
Was told to start looking on e(vil)bay now for a cheap stock set to stick on for MOT because he can see them becoming like gold dust
In the US It's comming,,,
If you don't have the Stamp on the bottom of the pipe sayin Its EPA compliant
they could Impound the bike,,Cops going round to bars at night with a little mirror,,
snatchin bikes with aftermarket pipes,,,
I Always Knew those Loud pipe no baffle running guys would screw things up for everybody.
Thats why I've kept my stock pipes on,,waiting to see how this plays out...
I will be punchin the restrictor disk tho,,,,,,
That sucks man. I have Sideshots on my bike that the dealer put on. I take it to them for inspections with no issues. So far (fingers crossed), cops in the Dallas, TX area do not mess with people for loud pipes.
There is a difference between Loud and Obnoxiously Loud. I don't think the cops will mess with anyone unless they are doing something to draw attention to themselves.
yea seriously, NY blows enough wiener for the whole US and now this BS. I'm so fed up with all this and this dude in town too. it might be time for him to get some tires slashed or something because he's been a ***** to several other people too and almost didn't give me my sticker on my 84 honda last year because my tires were "unsafe", which they were far from it, he was just looking to get me to pay up and have him put new tires on, which i did schedule that day, then traded it in within a few days towards the nightster.
some F*&%ing people just need to get the S slapped out of them and harsh reality check. i can only hope his business goes up in flames from the economy and turning customers away.
this really grinds my gears my friends
That sucks man ... luckily in NJ we do not have any physical inspection of motorcycles anymore ... yes it is awsome and saves time. The one positive about living in this state, other than that property taxes suck and insurance is high !

Where the hell are cops just "snatchin" people's bikes off the street for missing a stamp? Is that speculation or an actual law? You say it's "Coming", but talk like it's here. That's stealing. Wouldn't they have to issue a summons first? In Jersey, we don't even have inspection anymore.
well i wouldn't know where else to take it. a normal car inspection is different from motorcycle and you have to have the right stickers, i guess in some states anyone can do an inspection but no good ol NY...geez i guess i can't talk bad about jersey anymore haha
I'm going to try another shop a few miles away, hopefully i can pull in quiet enough to where they wont want to go passed that
