I work at a dealership and I am currently looking for opinions from people who own the sportster solo luggage rack for a little project I'm doing. "What do you think of it? In your opinions...Does this product meet your expectation? Why or Why not?" I appreciate your help in this project.
I had a Motherwell rack on an earlier Sportster and it looked great IMHO, functioned well with a roll bag for short trips although limited by length in bag space.

The style is nice but the price is outrageous. I went for the rack that mounts with the sissy bar. If I take long rides I throw on the comfy 2-up seat with the sissy bar giving me all kinds of room to carry bags.

Thank you every one for your input. I am looking to hear from folks who actually own the product. I specifically want to know how the product is functioning, as it is detachable. Do you guys ever remove it? How was it to install?
Hello, Kruella. I do own one. It is "detachable" if you want to spend a considerable amount of time trying to snap it off.
It is very useful to have a travel bag behind you (although Harley does not seem to make a good one for that purpose, certainly not as good as the cylindrical bags Biker's Friend makes).
I have two of 'em. One I bought used and the other I got at an employee's discount when I worked at a dealer. Love the style and sturdiness. They go on and off in about 20-30 seconds (after the initial learning experience, which took 45 seconds). Much better than saddlebags that scratch your paint/chrome! The OL's bike has a trunk now, so she never uses hers any more. Before, she used it constantly for purse, overnight bag, etc. I haven't used the other, yet. My Sportster has a two up saddle. I bought it to mount a trunk to, but I think I like the Harley mount intended for a sport tour pack better. One day, I may powder coat it black just for the fun of it.
I hope you find your dealership employment enjoyable and it works well for you.
