Default tranny upgrade
hey there i got a 2010 iron and was wondering if anyone knew if there either was a 6-speed tranny that fits the frame and engine or if there was a kit i could get....plz let me know cause i would like to upgrade...i need the overdrive gear living in colorado and the speed limit is 75 but cruising speed is around 80-85

Wow, thats ONE way to spend $2600.

Only good through '03 though, but still nice to know you're not stuck with stock.

I have no problem what so ever cruising at 85 on my nightser...

I'm not sure about the newer bikes. I have a 94 and never thought to look to see if they had newer. I have to call em sometime to see if they have the N1 drum for older sportsters.

Baker has nothing for 04 up sporster due to the case being one piece with the crankcase is what I was told by baker when I called. They did say it could be split for like 3k

Sporster has always had the trans as part of the engine. But you can pull out the internals to swap em out. and they have em for 91-03. Never noticed the years before.

My bike loves 90 mph 4k rpm rides,,,,
Funny thing tho,,,It always wants to run about 4,400 rpm's XD

If yer bike Is stock yer prolly too damn lean,,especially at those speeds,,
