Anyone else having fork lock issues. Lock turns and key removes but it no longer engages the fork lock.

Unsure if I have a defective lock or if someone tried to mess with my bike.

Anyway you look at it, it's malfunctioning. Sounds like a warranty issue to me...

 

I don't see how my fork lock could malfunction. It's just two steel plates lining up holes so I can put a lock in

 

Take it to the dealer. Warranty issue sounds like to me.

 

This is on a 04 which was bought when the new Sporty's came out in summer of 03 so warranty has come & gone....

 

Had this same problem with my dyna, and one of the guys told me to do a forum search and found the fix. Seems like this was covered before. Go to the dyna thread it's still on there.

 

Get it replaced or removed immediately! Mine damn near killed me when it decided to work when it was in the unlocked position while going down the road! I had my first out of body experience when my head bounced on the pavement. I'm lucky to be alive
