Default Difference and Questions

I've been looking at the 05 XL883C and just recently have found the 883R I like the looks of the R better and was just wondering what the differences between the two were. Also i've been told that with the 883 the best thing you can do off the floor is to put new slip-ons and get it re-jetted. I could use some opinions on this matter, please. Thank you.

Depending on how much highway riding you plan on, it is nice to have a little more range with the larger tank on the C model but other than that, not a lot of difference. If I were to get a Sportster, I'd get a 1200 though. More air through the breather, rejet and pipes are nice but not critical. They'll give it more zip and a much improved sound.

the best thing for my 883 was to make it a 1200!

The 883 is a good bike and runs solid as is. The rejet will make it run a bit better and the SE II's will make it sound like a Harley.

The 'C' has forward controls, a 4.5 gal gas tank.
The 'R' model sits a bit higher than the 'C' model, has mid controls, a 3.3 gal gas tank and has dual front disk brakes.
