spring seat question

Default spring seat question
ok i picked up a solo seat for my iron, right now i have it mounted with rubber stops at the back but, was thinkin about putting springs. how did you guys mount them? drill holes in the frame with bolts? or weld in bungs or somthing? im not looking to spend $200 on that pre made kit with the pand and everything attatched to it.

Depends what year. If it's 04 & up I'll drill & tap the frame. The frame in that area is not tube (although it looks like it) but formed plate. You can tap the hole or just use a through bolt with a nut on the opposite side.
