i have a 2011 iron 883. i am looking to upgrade the exhaust, a/c and the add a fuel pak. i am thinking about either the v&h short shots or the bassani radial sweepers. i have watched sweveral you tube videos on the two pipes. i like the deep tone of the v&h and the looks and sound of the bassani. i think the bassani made be too loud for an all day ride. if anyone that has experience with either of the pipes would tell me your thoughts it would be greatly appreciated
I have the v&h's shortshots and i like em. my friend has the straight shot and another friend has the bassani. they all sound and look good on our respective bikes. if u go with the bassani, my boy did have clearance issues with the stock air cleaner, so keep that in mind. I'm a fan of loud pipes, because you want to be seen by idiot drivers. You'll notice a difference in congested traffic your first time riding with loud pipes as opposed to stock.
Thanks for the replies guys. I am looking at the all black pipes to make my bike completely black. I really like the looks of the bassani sweeper, my fear is they will extremely loud. I love loud pipes but there is a point where on a long trip they can be two loud.
Blumpkin would u say thy bassani sweepers are louder than the short shots. I have noticed videos the short shots seems to have a deeper tone to them also. Not many people in area run loud pipes so it is difficult to hear them in person
I agree...loud pipes do save lives bc people hear you coming so they know to keep an eye out for the motorcycle.
Why does everyone think loud pipes saves lives? Years ago we were told by our MSF instructor that it has been proven that more accidents are caused from loud pipes. It scares drivers increasing the risk for an accident. The real kicker is watching all these biker posers prancing around with there leather or jean cutoffs with a patch stating that on it.
Get a life. If you were really concerned with your own life - you wouldn't be on a motorcycle in the first place.
