A milestone for me - 10000 miles in a year
My Sportster rolled off the showroom floor June 15th, 2010 with 7 miles on it. 361 days later, Saturday afternoon, I noticed I was nearing 10000 miles so I pulled over when it hit and snapped a pic. I've got a couple hundred more since then.
I guess I'm no poser. I bought this bike to ride, and thanks to our year-round riding weather, I'm riding the crap out of it.
Other than a weeping front rocker box gasket when new (fixed under warranty), and considering how loud the valvetrain clatters and the tranny clunks, it's been a very reliable ride. Kudos to H-D.
To give myself a pat on the back, I ordered the Xtreme z-bars today. 4" rise and 9" pullback so I'm hoping I won't have to lean forward like with drag bars.
The bars are 1 1/4" with 1" ends to accept stock controls and risers. They're predrilled and hopefully the 1 1/4" tubes will make the internal wiring easier. If I get frustrated, I'll external wire and go because I don't want the scooter out of service long.
I'll post pics when the bars are on.
