I'm using python 3 for my sporty and my friends have commented that they sound good and not overly loud. I personally feel that it has more bass than the SE slip ons. However, its still not loud enough for me. Loud pipes, save lives.
2 Into 1's do add power but It's mostly way up the tach where we
don't ride all that often.
2 Into 1's are known for a mid power "Dip",, a Low section of the torque curve.
This can be tuned out with something Like the Power commanders
If you can control the fuel tables and Ignition 2 Into 1's are top performers.
BUT with an 883 thats an awful lot of coin for single digit power gains.
If It was me I'd go for good sound and keep the well tuned stock system.
That stock crossover pipe gives great scavenging results as Is.
IMO,,an 883
X14ieD's,
Rush slip ons with the 1.5" baffles,,great base btw.
1.75" baffles give a little harmless de-cell pop.
2.00" baffles are kinda loud and give a little more de-cell pop, Too open IMO
and the SE Air breather kit.
You still have a lot to learn. Check out RB Racings LSR 2-1 They have more info than even you can stand. And they are arguably the best pipes in the world.
If you want to make power on a multi-cylinder engine you have to use a collector system. Whether it's a V-Twin or a V-8 it's the same, and no less an authority than the famed engine builder Smokey Yunick will tell you that. Not using free exhaust energy to help your engine breathe is downright criminal. No matter what the conventional wisdom is, staggered duals on a Harley will not make more power. You simply cannot escape the fact that a properly designed 2-1 will give you more useable torque where you need it, in the 2000 to 4000 rpm range, which means less downshifts and less rpm to get the job done. A set of short staggered duals at peak rpm can be made to produce good power but they will be dead on their *** until they get there, whereas an engine developed around an LSR 2-1 exhaust can be made to perform from the bottom up with no dips in the torque band!

I have to disagree. I have Rush with 2" baffles that sound more silent than 1.5", that I bought for getting pipes more silent. Reason for it is, that 1.5" gives heavy mid tone, that is really penetrating no matter how deep earplugs are pushed. 10 mins ride, and ears are ringing.....
I use now Gronk modded OEM pipes. Good enough for me and the society
Good Info,,,need more,,
You got an EFI bike ?
a 1200 ?
how did the De-cell pop compair between the 1.5" and 2.0" baffles ??
The sound I liked most was the 1.75" baffles,,De-cell pop was minimal.
I was hoping for none with the 1.5"s as my Indi Indicated....

Dammit man,,now ya got me doing a second look Into 2 into 1's
I've herd from so many sourses that they need tuning once on the bike.
I know someone who got the V&H black out 2 into 1's
and the flat spot was so bad the bike's power loss was terrible.
Fixed with a specific fuel controller,,can't remeber wich one,,,

Now you know why quite a few of us say that V&H pipes suck.
I always say get a full system if you can. I don't like he stock look you still have with slip on's. I have Rush slip on's on my 1200C don't know the baffle size as they were on it when I got it. They sound ok, but I love my open Martin bro's pipes on my XL50 LOL! When I got my XL50 it has the SE slip on's and they suck! IMO did not sound good at all. I'm not a huge fan of the 2-1 systems, but i'm not saying they are a bad idea-I just don't liek them all that well.
Thanks guys for all your feedback and experiences really appreciate it, good info as usual. Well I bit the bulllet and bought her a pair a V+H slipons with the quiet baffles. I'll report back when I fit them and let you know if they did the trick. Hopefully they wont be too loud.
