Okay here we go 06 1200 custom can i just replace the stock filter with a K@N and not have replace the backing plate and eveything else? Would useing this set up make my bike to lean? thanks for the feed back on more A/C Slick
Yes you can buy the filter and install it.You will need a rejet though. For the difference in money you should just get the entire kit with the backing plate and then do the rejet. That of course is just my opinion.Hopefully you have already done the exhaust to get the most performance bang for your buck.
i tried the k&n filter in the stock can. with slip ons i still ran lean. checked around local indy shops and found a take-off Kuryakyn a/c with a k&n filter for $100.00. $70.00 for rejet and life is good. it's not that pricey to complete the stage 1. big bang for little $$ imho.
i find it amazing that the rich guys switch out chrome goodies so often just for the current fads. do some calling around.
