a lower bolt on the primary cover broke off of my 2007883xl,ive got the drain plug off,all the bolts from around the outside of cover, both inspection covers off and it still wont come off, did i miss something?
Did you loosen the primary chain tensioner and/or take off the left foot peg and remove the shifter lever. Disconnect the clutch cable?
Are you doing this from a manual?
If you did all that and ensured you removed all the bolts........Then someone might of used Permatex gasket sealer on it and you'll play a bit of hell to get it off. Just be patient and it will come off.

Did the entire bolt head break off?If not it will still hold the primary on.You need to invest in a rubber mallet to tap the cover. At that point you should know what is holding the cover on provided you followed the above suggestions.Even the stock gasket could hold it tight.Thats or threads on the bolt.
