Default Progressive HD v. Standard?

What's the deal between opting for the HD progressive suspension and the standard?? I only weigh about 170, my wife weighs 110. We rarely ride two up, but there is that possibility. Am I better off going with the HD or the standard??

Also thinking about dropping in the 11" shocks on a 2005 Custom with stock rear tire. I won't have any clearance issues, will I?

I have an 03 which vibrates alot more than an 05. I installed progressive springs and shocks (stock height 13.5) and I weigh 175lbs. Big difference in the ride and I like the look of the black shocks. Most of my riding is solo except when my 10 y/o daughter wants to take a ride to the grocery store. I've heard shorter shocks give a stiffer ride.

I advise against buying new shocks in a box off someone's shelf. Buy them from someone who will ensure you get them with a set of springs to suit you and your riding style. That way you should find that when your wife wants a ride you just have to make a simple adjustment. You may pay a little more than from the very cheapest store, but you are much more likely to find you like them!

TD, I opted for the Progressive 13.5" 440 standards and they are perfect, I'm 5' 9" and 205 lbs. I installed Progressive fork springs at the same time and used the spacers at their full 3". Running BelRay 7w fork oil works in perfect harmony with the 440 standards. When my wife rides along I just crank in 4 turns of pre load and the harmony is maintained.

Thanks guys, some great input. I'll probably go with the 12", because I'd like to lower the bike a bit.
