Default Front turn signal relocation question...

So stupid question here...

The directions for the front turn signal relocation mounts, which attach at the sides of the lower triple tree mount, tell you to put the bike up on a center stand. Do I really need to do this?? When I remove torx bolt (which gets replaced with the relocation kit), will not having my front tire off the ground because I am not using a center stand cause anything bad to happen, like the shock to slip out of place or anything? I have completely stipped and rebuilt two metric bikes now, and this was not an issue on them. I guess what I am asking is, is the upper part of my fork, where the lower part of the triple tree attaches to the front fork, a fixed piece of metal?? I believe it is, but also do not want to loosen up these bolts and have one shock shoot down out of alignment with the other one!

Unless they changed something since 2005 (my former Sporty), never put bike on any stand when I did the front signal relocation...I believe they're being overly cautious...

I have an '11 Iron, so I would say Im good to go. I just know that there are some "inverted shocks" out there... Have never seen them, and common sense tells me that the "movement" of a shock cannot be in the triple tree area for obvious reasons! I just never worked on anything this new or valuable...only old xs and kz bobbers!

Thanks for the quick replys
