Default Help with Bassani Sweepers Exhaust !!!!

Im new to HD i just bought the iron 883 2012 . I fall in love with the look of Bassani Sweepers Exhaust but i was wondering that if i buy it do i have to bring it to dealer to install it or i can do it by mysefl . I called the stealer i think they said that it would be around 400$ to install and change air filter, adjust fuel something to my bike ... So if there any other ways that i can do please help me thanks guy

Get a service manual for your bike & get all the right tools. If you are not mechanically inclined and/or have never worked on bikes or cars before than maybe doing it yourself isn't a good idea.

Swapping exhaust pipes is a piece of cake....so is changing out the AC. The FI programming I know nothing about....my bike is carbed

All you need for richening the fuel curve is the Vieds or Xieds from www.nightrider.com; buy your A/C and exhaust and do the install yourself. You can even do them at separate times.

1) Xieds or Vieds will richen up an already crazy lean fuel curve in your closed loop throttle.
2) A/C, you need allen keys, torx (star) keys, and a SAE socket set.
3) exhaust, you need a SAE socket set, some open end wrenches, a flat head screwdriver and some isopropyl alcohol and clean rags to wipe any chrome parts off from the oils in your skin, bike or tools.
4) beers, but not a lot, cause you'll want to ride it afterward

If you're just going to do the exhaust, you don't need to do anything to richen it up.

Grab some tools and a couple of buddies and dive into it. You'll have it done before you know it. If you are just changing your exhaust, that is the only thing you need to worry about right now. If you change your air cleaner, then you should richen up the AFR with the xieds.

If your just doing exhaust you don't need to do anything else like was stated up above. If you change the air cleaner then you need some type of fuel management.

They are basically saying you need the renal from Harley or fuel management. Which you don't need, just pipes is fine on the stock ECM so get the pipes if that's all your doing for now. And when/if you do a AC then worry about a remap or another kind of fuel management.
