Default Throttle Fatigue

Loving my Harley...but, after 50 miles my right hand is done! My left doesn't get all that tired. I can just let go, shake it off and stretch out my hand a bit and I'm goodto go. But my right is a different story. I guess its the vibration or something. But my hand starts to get the pins & needles. I tried riding with no gloves thinking that was the issue but it wasn't. My riding position is actually quite comfortable with forward controls and min-apes. When I first start out I feel great but then towards the end I just want to get off.

Is this typical? ...maybe something I just have to get used to? I haven't mounted a windshield ...I'd rather not, but maybe that would help? I'd love to go on long rides but it just isn't possible right now.

Advice?

i get like that from time to time as well, usually because I'm gripping the throttle a little too tightly. I usually just loosen my grip and wiggle the fingers and then I'm good to go.....

adjust your throttle friction to hold the throttle at any position.
but no so tight that you cannot roll it on/off..
then you can relax your hand , and even take it off the grip every so often..

I often ride 2-3 hundred mile days with no tingle/cramp..
matter of fact , I couldnt without the friction control.
simple movement of the thumb-actuated friction wheel becomes as natural as shifting gears.

+1 - and adding a Throttle Mate makes it even easier.

I ride 150 miles a day.

I use a throttle dampener.

Not a throttle lock, makes freeway driving effortless

If you've got apes, your hands could be up too high. Lower bars improve blood flow to the hands.

I rotated them back a little yesterday. I'll look into lowering them a little too.

To everyone else:

Thanks for the suggestions ....I had forgotten about my friction lock

I use a Throttle Rocker II on my Nightster, easy on and off, helps reduce fatigue and soreness and you can stretch out your fingers

I don't see how throttle rocker II works ...looks like it wraps around the end of your throttle but then what? ...the entire grip twists ....I must be missing something, lol
