give V & h a miss, i had straight shots on my nightster and they were a real head ache after a few miles , hi pitched crackle and not a nice deep rumble which is what i wanted , Ive gone with rush slip ons on my fat bob , there soooo much better IMHO ,

what's up with the different baffle sizes? I take it the size affects how loud they are? If that is the case, are the smaller size baffles quieter or louder than the larger size baffles? thanks!
SE II are good mufflers but don't rule out the after market there are quit a few companies that build excellent mufflers with changeable baffles so you can tailor the mufflers to your particular engine combo. Stay away from anything that looks like a drag pipe, if there is no visible muffler then they are made for looks and noise not over all performance. I know I will get crap for this statement but it's the truth. Been there!
I had SS, installed quiet baffles, then put on some Python slips. I have to say I'm very happy with the python slips; better sound at idle and much quieter when on the throttle. Still not quiet but not blow your ears out loud like the SS.

Mich, for the Rush, the lower the number the more restriction of air flow thus making it a bit more quieter.
Been running with the Rush slip-ons with 1.75 baffle for a couple years now. Great rumble to it. And even with the 1.75 they are loud enough to still set off a few car alarms as I ride by. Honestly I would have liked for them to be just a bit more toned down since I usually leave for work at 5 am and don't wish to get my neighbors in an uproar.
